About Us

Our counselling service has been accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Chelmsford Counselling Foundation (CCF) was established in 1974 under the former name of Writtle Pastoral Foundation.  Now a charitable company based in central Chelmsford, CCF has a strong reputation for high standards of training and practice.

CCF aims to offer psychodynamic counselling to individuals and couples. Counselling is available at an affordable price and is open to anyone over the age of 18 living in Chelmsford and surrounding districts.  CCF is committed to the professional practice of counselling, seeking to promote personal growth towards psychological and emotional health.

CCF also operates an established and highly regarded training programme, with a development route from introductory and skills courses through to BACP-accredited Diploma level training in psychodynamic counselling for those wishing to pursue a career as a professional counsellor.

CCF provided counsellors in surgeries in Mid Essex Primary Care Trust for 10 years, working with GPs to improve access to counselling within the NHS framework and now delivers services to the NHS – IAPT (Improved Access to Psychological Therapies) in the Mid Essex area.

LAURA EYNON

BA, Dip.Lit, Cert. Acc (OU)

I have worked for CCF for over 20 years having previously worked in Fundholding in a Chelmsford GP practice, Accounting in an Essex YMCA and as a Civil Servant for the London Magistrates’ Courts Service. Initially employed as the Head of Administration, I was appointed as Company Secretary in 2002 and Head of Centre in 2012. After 20 years, I still enjoy my work at CCF and value the work carried out here by all the staff to continue to provide a professional, affordable counselling to those in need. I am mum to three children and have recently become a grandmother. I enjoy playing squash, dancing, gym and walking.

SARAH WARWICK

Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling, BA (Hons), MBACP

I trained as a counsellor at CCF nearly 20 years ago and since then have worked here as a counsellor seeing individuals and couples, as an intake assessor, and in various roles as part of the training team. I have additional clinical experience offering short term counselling sessions via a number of Employee Assistance Programmes. I have always enjoyed being part of the team who offer such professional support to a wide range of clients at CCF and I very much value the opportunity to manage the provision of clinical services within the organisation.

HEATHER ROBBIE

Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling, MBACP (Accred); Institute of Group Analysis Diploma in Groupwork Practice.

I qualified as a psychodynamic counsellor at Chelmsford Counselling Foundation, and have remained in the organisation since completing my training, seeing individual clients on a short term and open-ended basis and facilitating student process groups as part of CCF’s BACP accredited counsellor training programme. I provide Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT) to NHS clients, undertake new client intake assessments, and have additional experience as a clinical supervisor.

I enjoy being part of the CCF team, and as Head of Training and Course Development, look forward to continuing to deliver high quality and professional training to our students and further developing our counsellor training and personal development offerings.
